New 2022 Ford Bronco Price, Specs, Review – The Ford Bronco was once a firm staple in the sport-utility segment. However, it has been absent from the market ever since 1996. The Bronco was available in many sizes and shapes during its 31-year-long, five-generation history.
But the new Bronco is back with a clear purpose: to dethrone Jeep Wrangler. In recent years, no automaker has attempted to tread on Jeep’s territory. However, Ford seems determined that it will offer buyers an alternative for a mid-sized off-road adventure vehicle.
The New 2022 Ford Bronco comes in two-door and four-door versions, each having removable roofs or doors, just like its main competitor. Standard is a 270-horsepower EcoBoost four-cylinder paired with a seven-speed manual transmission (including crawler gear) or a 10-speed auto.
However, the more powerful 310-hp twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 produces higher outputs and can be used only with the automatic. A 4×4 drivetrain will be a standard regardless of the engine you choose. The new Ford Bronco is a powerful off-road vehicle that offers open-top thrills and proven engines.
New 2022 Ford Bronco Redesign
The New 2022 Ford Bronco SUV is a modern icon with its retro design that pays homage to the original Bronco and incorporates contemporary design elements. It looks amazing. Base models have a manual rear swing-gate that can swing up to 150 degrees, LED headlights, and removable doors.
In addition, 16-inch silver-painted wheels are wrapped in 255/70R16 All Season 30-inch tires. Optional 17-inch high-gloss black wheels are available. Standard 32-inch tires are available for Big Bend vehicles. Black Diamond trim includes full underbody bash plates and rock rails.
Wildtrak cars receive some very excellent graphics. Vehicles such as the First Edition or Wildtrak get standard 17-inch wheels and 35-inch tires at the upper end of the trim range. Optional Sasquatch packages add off-road-focused features like high-clearance suspension and high-clearance flares to the vehicle. 35-inch tires are also available.
Mud-terrain tires are also an option. Every trim level receives unique fender badges. The Basesquatch model, which has the Sasquatch Package (nicknamed Basesquatch), gets a one-of-a-kind Sasquatch logo. The 2-door Bronco comes with a hardtop roof, while the 4-door Bronco has a soft-top roof.
The interior of the New 2022 Ford Bronco is rugged and modern, just like the exterior. It looks strong enough to withstand even the most extreme Overlanding trips. The dashboard is large and well-designed, with all the necessary controls conveniently located. This blends seamlessly into the overall theme of enormous dimensions and strong looks. Ford’s Bronco comes with off-road-friendly features like rubberized floors and marine-grade vinyl seats.
There are even integrated drainage ducts to help you when the river is more profound than expected. The retro LCD instrument panel on the new Bronco is a nice touch, and the 12-inch optional infotainment screen is a great addition. It’s not Range Rover, but Ford has managed to create a Bronco interior that matches all the cars’ overall look and feel.
New 2022 Ford Bronco Engine
There won’t be any naturally-aspirated options like the Wrangler. Ford’s New 2022 Ford Bronco comes with two engine options. The EcoBoost four-cylinder, with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft torque, is the first. The power is transmitted to the Bronco’s four-wheel-drive system via a seven-speed manual transmission with a low range crawler-gear ratio (94.75:1) or an optional 10-speed automated box.
The 2.7-liter turbo V6 engine produces 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. The larger motor can only be paired with the 10-speed automatic. Standard 4WD systems use a 2-speed electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer box. Both two- and four-door vehicles are available with an advanced 4×4 system. This system features a 2-speed electromechanical transfer box with auto-engaging 2H and 4H.
Optional electronic locking differentials can be added. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to test the EcoBoost 2.7-liter out on the roads, the 2.3-liter was more than sufficient for off-road use. The V6-powered Bronco is much more agile than the Jeep Wrangler’s EcoDiesel V6 or turbocharged four-cylinder.
As a result, the engine is less stressed at higher speeds and requires less planning to pass slower traffic. Although we felt some jerks in Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission, it didn’t ruin our driving experience. The smooth shifts of the Jeep’s eight-speed automatic are still better than what we experienced in our Bronco.
